Design:
Hotpoint HWD24X, as most of the other warming drawers in the market, comes with a stainless steel finishing. It is designed in such a way to be installed under a built-in oven. And if you have an oven that has stainless steel finishing, the HWD24X is going to look like an absolute beauty in there. As you can see in the following image, on top is a Hotpoint oven and below it is the HWD24X warming drawer. This warming drawer has telescopic drawer runners.
The Hotpoint HWD24X is a 24cm warming drawer with a built-in electric plate with 45 litre capacity and 20kg load capacity. Before buying the unit, make sure that it fits in beneath your oven as it has its dimensions to be (H x W x D) 224 x 590 x 509mm. The design is very plain, you will not find even the Hotpoint logo over it, but it is disappointing that Hotpoint has not even included an LED to indicate the activity of the device.
Features:
The major functions of the HWD24X stainless steel warming drawer are warming and defrosting and has three settings available for each of these functions. The device also includes a plate warming function.
Warranty:
Hotpoint has offered its HWD24X Food warming drawer one year warranty for labour and 5 years for parts. This is quite competitive, considering the fact its rivals Neff and Baumatic offer 2 years and 5 years warranty respectively for their range of warming drawers.
Verdict:
The Hotpoint HWD24X 24cm Warming Drawer with 45 litre capacity is well suited for bigger families. Since Hotpoint is one of the most trusted home appliance manufacturers, you need not have any worries of reliability and durability.

Had a Hotpoint HWD24X on order since 21st September, and they have failed three delivery promises to date, Nov, and two in January 2011. Very difficult to find electrical connection info, and cannot be found on their own website! Yet Hotpoint say they have made hundreds of these. Where are they all? No retailers have any, and they say Hotpoint offer alead time is 4 weeks…but not t believe that.

Finally received warming drawer mid-February. However due to fact that it has a push-to-open function the front does not align with the other units in the appliance housing. and when “closed” there is a 5mm opening, thru which the “On”neon is visible. The faces do line up when the front is pushed in (to open). There appears to be no adjustment for this mis-alignment. The mounting flange needs to be approx 5mm further forward so that the unit sits further back in the housing. Disappointed with this basic design fault. Operationally very pleased.
